Yeji Kim is a dance artist and choreographer from South Korea with a profound passion for dance and the arts.
Working on the international stage she creates highly physical and powerful dance that connects people to their emotions. Often searching for and revealing meanings that cannot be conveyed by words. Her work is personal, instinctive and confronting. Yeji Kim is interested in human stories, human beings, and exploring the human condition, with dance, depth of emotion and poetry.
Her journey began with formal dance training at the Korea National University of Arts and London Contemporary Dance School, laying a strong foundation for her artistic expression which has continued through out her career.
Since 2009, Yeji Kim has been a member of the Hofesh Shechter Company, for over 16 years she has intensely developed her craft as a dance artist. She has participated in every major production with Hofesh which has to allowed her to develop her profound physicality, artistry and commitment to dance. Her dedication led her to become the workshop leader, rehearsal assistant for HSC, and a certified Pilates instructor. Additionally, she is a winner of the Golden Prize at the prestigious 38th Dong-A Dance Competition in Korea.
Yeji Kim continues to inspire people around the world, teaching workshops in Europe, China and South Korea, also creating new work for the Greater Bay Area Festival in Shenzhen and performing with HSC in ‘Theatre of Dreams’.
